We were opening up our house for the spring and were just getting ready to set up our screen porch when my husband noticed mom sitting on the nest. They usually set up on the outside in one of the eaves, but we had removed the screen doors on either side of the porch to make it easier to get out to the deck on the winter time. Based on the debris on the other fan blades, this was the third attempt, third times a charm!
One of the funnier aspects, sometimes when she lands, she moves the blades so that the nest slowly rotates!
We taped over the switch so no one turns it on by accident, but we will not be able to get out there until they are fledged, which should be before we are up for the summer (as long as we catch her between broods!)
