Thanks to Optics for the Tropics, we are pleased to announce an exciting new mini-grant opportunity to receive binoculars! Optics for the Tropics has agreed to earmark funds for educational projects through the Cornell Lab of Ornithology that meet the following criteria:
- Applicants must be part of an organization or school that is based in Latin America or the Caribbean and conducting a project within this region. Note: binoculars will only be rewarded to organizations or schools, not individuals.
- Projects must involve bird citizen science (such as eBird, aVerAves or Celebrate Urban Birds).
- Recipients will sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, requesting a one-page report and some photos within six months of receiving the binoculars. We would like to post your events on our websites and social media to highlight your successes and appreciate regular updates because it is always fun to hear from you!
- Recipients will agree to participate in a short online course.
