Mourning Dove Mama And Her Two Hatchlings by Barbara Hostetler (Schwenksville, Pennsylvania, US): It was a few weeks after the last snow, I went out to clean the side patio for the season . Imagine my surprise and delight to see the Mourning Dove with her two babies! As you can see she was keen to spot the perfect circle happening inside the extension cord left out from last fall , and so she built the latest look in mourning Dove housing ! Photo taken from a distance so as not to further disturb the happy family ! We were stopping at a red light and saw muddy clumps on the highway overpass. See it hanging on the side of the wall? Look a little closer! See the Bag Lady? A Carolina wren has set up housekeeping inside the rag bag. Kelly and Cheryl had a house finch nest on their porch last year. They enjoyed watching the birds come and go as they raised two families. So when this wren took over the rag bag, they backed away and relinquished it to her. Now they can hear the babies!
